For the fourth straight year, North Luzon Renewables (NLR) received the “Corporate Safety and Health Excellence Award” from the Safety & Health Association of the Philippine Energy Sector, Inc. (SHAPES) and the Department of Energy (DOE) for operating without lost time accident (LTA) from the period November 2016 to October 2017.

In a ceremony held at the University of the Philippines, BGC Campus in Taguig City on December 6, 2017, NLR likewise received the Hall of Fame distinction from SHAPES and DOE for its consistent and excellent performance in corporate safety and health. NLR’s Health and Safety Manager Arnulfo A. Almeniana also received the 2017 Outstanding Safety and Health Professional Award for ensuring industry safety and health standards compliance in the NLR wind farm in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. Since 2014, NLR has achieved at least one million man-hours without LTA.

“To be recognized for our commitment to the well-being of our employees, contractors, consultants and visitors onsite underscores the value that NLR places on safety and health in all aspects of our plant operations,” said NLR Chief Operating Officer Mr. Gabino Ramon G. Mejia. “We look forward to another LTA-free year in 2018,” he added.

SHAPES and the DOE have been recognizing individuals and companies in the energy sector with exemplary safety practices and management since 2008.
